Android Dialogs(AlertDialog) and Popup ในการพัฒนาโปรแกรมบน Android เครื่องมือที่เราจะต้องใช้บ่อย ๆ อย่างตัวหนึ่งก็คือการใช้ Popup หรือ Dialog เพราะจะเป็นช่องทางสำหรับการโต้ตอบ แจ้งข้อมูลให้ทราบ หรือต้องการให้ผู้ใช้ยืนยันข้อมูลบางอย่าง

สำหรับ Android ในการใช้ Dialog หลัก ๆ จะมีอยู่ 2 ตัวคือ Toast และ AlertDialog โดย Toast จะเป็นเพียงการแจ้งให้ทราบผ่านทางหน้าจอประมาณ 1 วินาที และหายไป แต่ AlertDialog จะแสดงขึ้นมาบนหน้าจอ และรอผู้ใช้ทำรายการอื่น ๆ ผ่าน Dialog ได้
